On December 15, The New York Times ran a front-page story reporting on the controversy, and sent one of its sleuthing reporters to Guatemala to corroborate some of Stoll's findings. Last fall, anthropologist David Stoll, a professor at Middlebury College, published a book entitled Rigoberta Menchú and the Story of All Poor Guatemalans (Westview Press, 1998), in which he questions many aspects of Rigoberta's life story presented in I, Rigoberta Menchú: An Indian Woman in Guatemala (Verso, 1984). ![]() Rigoberta Menchú, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1992 and has been a tireless activist for indigenous and human rights, has become the subject of controversy. ![]()

And read it in three days! It was somewhat of a sad read because of the realisation that it was the last of the books and Dudu, if you are reading this, it’s a NATIONAL CALL – you have got to write more books! We need a book on how the Zulu brothers see things, we need more. She amasses an army of dark characters in our world, intending to take them back to Wonderland for the purpose of reclaiming the throne from her pesky niece, Alyss Heart. This story picks up right where The Looking Glass Wars left off, with Redd throwing herself into earth, experiencing some time away from Wonderland in the world as we know it. I think perhaps the reason I could relax more with was because I didn't expect much from it, while the first time I engaged with high expectations. ![]() This time my reading of Seeing Redd was completely different. Fast forward to 2016 and all I remembered about the story was that I had some hesitations which caused me never to chase after the third book in the trilogy, ArchEnemy. I didn't care for it as much and I gave a pretty good set of reasons as to why. Seeing Redd was quite a different matter. When I reviewed The Looking Glass Wars back in 2007 I pretty much only used exclamation points when talking about it.
